The Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics is thrilled to welcome its newest faculty member, Assistant Professor Shefin George, PhD. Dr. George joins the department from Stanford University, where she completed her postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Anthony Ricci. Her research focuses on understanding how membrane properties regulate mechanotransduction in auditory hair cells. Through remarkable technical innovation, she has developed novel approaches to uncovering the biophysical mechanisms underlying hearing at the cellular level.
