The Department of Neurobiology & Biophysics is proud to congratulate Professor Fred Rieke, PhD, on receiving the Brian Boycott Prize at the 2026 FASEB Retinal Neurobiology and Visual Processing Meeting, the highest honor in the field of retinal neurobiology.
Dr. Rieke shares the prize with E.J. Chichilnisky, PhD, of Stanford University, a fitting partnership: the two were former lab mates in the laboratory of Dennis Baylor, and they have maintained an active scientific collaboration over their careers. They are currently Co-PI’s on a grant funded by the National Eye Institute.
The Brian Boycott Prize is named in honor of the distinguished British neurobiologist Brian Boycott, and recognizes outstanding career achievements in retinal neuroscience. Recipients are selected by a committee of prominent scientists in the field.
Please join us in celebrating Dr. Rieke on this well-deserved recognition!
