We are proud to announce that Claudia Moreno, PhD, Assistant Pofessor in the Department of Neurobiology & Biophysics, has been named a 2026 Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor — a recognition nominated directly by students and selected by a faculty and staff review committee.
Each year, presenters at the Undergraduate Research Symposium are invited to nominate a mentor who made a meaningful difference in their research journey. UW faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and research staff are all eligible. Dr. Moreno’s selection reflects the impact she has had on the undergraduate researchers in her lab.
The Moreno Lab investigates the mechanisms that regulate heart rate adaptability and the cardiac pacemaker. We congratulate Dr. Moreno on this well-deserved honor and thank her for her commitment to mentoring the next generation of scientists.
