Beth Buffalo and Adrienne Fairhall receive Simons Foundation grant

Beth Buffalo and Adrienne Fairhall have received a research award from the Simons Foundation, through the Simons Collaboration on the Global Brain. The primary goal of the Simons Collaboration on the Global Brain is to expand our understanding of the role of internal brain processes in the arc from sensation to action, thereby discovering the nature, role and mechanisms of the neural activity that produces cognition. In their project, Beth and Adrienne will use novel recording, behavioral, and computational techniques to probe neural activity in the primate hippocampal formation in order to further our understanding of how these brain structures contribute to spatial representation and memory formation.
