Elizabeth A. Buffalo, PhD, to serve as inaugural chair of Neurobiology & Biophysics

Elizabeth A. Buffalo, PhD, will serve as inaugural chair of the Department of Neurobiology & Biophysics. Dr. Buffalo joined the Department of Physiology and Biophysics in 2013 and served as the department chair since July 2020. 

Under Dr. Buffalo’s leadership, the newly consolidated departments of Physiology and Biophysics and Biological Structure will work towards their shared goal of establishing a quantitative and mechanistic understanding of molecular, cellular, and nervous system function, and training the next generation of neuroscientists as the Department of Neurobiology & Biophysics.
