John Tuthill is one of 22 young scientists chosen as a 2019 Pew Scholar. The program hopes to “answer some of the most pressing questions surrounding human health and disease”. John’s team focuses on the adaptability of animal’s body sensing and movement ability, using the fruit fly as their model.
John has won several other awards including the 2018 McKnight Scholar Award, a 2017 Allen Institute Next Generation Leader, a Sloan Fellowship, a 2017 Searle Scholar and a UW Innovation Award.
