Nick Steinmetz, Associate Professor of Neurobiology and Biophysics, led a team of researchers in developing the first ultra-high-density silicon probe capable of recording from thousands of neurons simultaneously. The Steinmetz lab is part of the International Brain Laboratory and the Neuropixels Consortium, collaborating with scientists across the United States, Japan, Germany, Belgium, China, Norway, England, and Italy.
Their findings were published September 30 in Neuron. Learn more about this research in the UW Medicine Newsroom.
