Dr. de la Cruz works in the laboratory of Oscar Vivas, at UW. Her research aims to identify the molecular mechanisms behind the age-associated hyperexcitability of post-ganglionic neurons, and to evaluate whether a treatment that is known to increase lifespan and healthspan in mice, dogs, and primates can reverse the age-related alterations of post-ganglionic sympathetic neurons.
