The Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics is proud to unveil its new visual treatment. This design is the result of a thoughtful and collaborative process with Stellate Communications. Together, we explored multiple iterations to arrive at a logo that reflects the core of our work and identity.
The three panels represent foundational levels of neurobiology and biophysics (cellular, molecular, and systems) through elements central to our research (microtubules, cells, and waveforms). The panels also draw inspiration from the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, symbolized by trees, the mountains, and water. This thoughtful integration creates a distinctive visual identity that celebrates both the breadth of research interests across our department and our shared connection to the natural world that surrounds us.

The result is more than just a visual representation or logo; it’s a symbol of our commitment to scientific excellence rooted in place, reflecting our diverse scholarly pursuits while honoring the stunning environment that inspires our work every day.
