NBIO Education
The Department of Neurobiology & Biophysics has a strong commitment to the education and mentorship of students at the undergraduate, graduate, and medical school level. We take pride in the high standard of teaching that has been recognized over decades. It is the goal of the Department to maintain that commitment to education and to encourage experimentation and innovation in teaching in all arenas.
While our major teaching responsibilities lie within the School of Medicine and the health sciences programs, our faculty, along with members from all corners of the Department, play an active role in educating a broad audience in a variety of formal and informal settings. We teach at all levels of education within and beyond the University in both traditional and innovative formats. Our faculty, staff and trainees are actively involved in teaching and mentoring junior colleagues, providing hands-on training and guidance, peer-to-peer teaching, and sustaining outreach efforts to our local community.
Our faculty are dynamic and award-winning teachers who continue the legacy of master teachers from the earliest days of the department. Through our teaching in international programs and with technology, our reach is truly global.
